Carr, Ginsberg, Burroughs begin a journey in search of ‘New Vision’ and want something to rock the boat. On campus in 1944, when Ginsberg is introduced to Lucien Carr, it seems Carr will persuade him for writing and this will be all about the story, but the story is more than that.
He needs to be inspired to reach with his writing. He wants to be a writer and explore new ideas, but he doesn’t know where he wants to go with his writing and how to get there. His father and psychologically ill mother are introduced and also shown that he was just accepted into Columbia University. In the beginning, the movie focuses on young Allen Ginsberg. This transformational moment grabs the attention of the audience in the movie. This act of violence is created as a mystery.

Krokidas has designed this film to deal with a transformational moment in their history together that is the murder of David Kammerer at the hands of Carr.
